Monday Market Report Mar 18 – Mar 24, 2019

MAYBE I spoke too soon! After what was a vibrant week in sales two weeks ago, we had a little “BLIP” in the action last week. In total, 12 residential properties in Penticton change hands this week versus the 23 homes sold the week prior – that’s a 48% decrease in sales volume in just one week. The total value of these 12 transactions was just over $4.5 million, compared to $9.6 million the week prior…..OUCH! The highest priced sale was a single family home in Columbia/Duncan which sold for more than $850,000. The variance between list price and actual sales price was back at 98%. The housing market is positioned in the “buyers” favour – but there’s no doubt that we WILL shift back in favour of “sellers” with a few more weeks of strong sales activity!
