Monday Market Report August 16 – August 22, 2021

A BRISK WEEK OF HOME SALES IN THE CITY OF PENTICTON!

In total, we had 33 homes change hands this past week in the Penticton region, that’s UP 4 properties from the week prior, and only DOWN 3 sales (36) for the same week in August 2020. This is the first time since early June that we’ve sold more than 30 homes in a week….Let’s see if a new sales trend is emerging, or just a “blip” on the screen. The TOTAL value of these 33 transactions was just over $24.8 million dollars compared to $18.5 million in sales the week prior. The highest priced sale was a Single-Family Home in Naramata which had a sales price tag of more than $3.3 million dollars. Homes that sold this week were (on average) at 98% of the listing price but 16 of the 33 homes were sold “AT OR OVER” the listing price. Sales volumes continue to stay somewhat “SEASONAL”, but it feels like a change is coming. Could we be moving towards a more “BALANCED” market in the coming weeks?
