Monday Market Report December 21 – 27, 2020

THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS OFFICIALLY UPON US – AND IT WAS BOUND TO SLOW DOWN!

In total, only 11 doors were sold in the past week. That’s a third of the output from the week prior where we had sold 33 doors. The TOTAL value of these 11 home purchases was just over $5.4 million dollars compared to 17 million the week prior. The highest priced sale was a condo on the North side of Penticton which sold for $985,000 dollars. The difference between the listing price and actual sales price for the week ended up at 98%, which is only one percentage point lower than last week’s sales ratio. We are still very much locked into a “SELLERS” market at this time. 2020 has turned out to be a banner year for home sales in Penticton! In fact, we have already sold more than 1,000 doors this year, which will be an increase at minimum of 21% (828 homes sold) over 2019. Here’s a breakdown of sales by property “type” for this past week (Dec. 21st to Dec. 27th)
