Monday Market Report September 6 – September 12, 2021

SEASONAL (AND STEADY) WEEK OF SALES IN THE PENTICTON MARKET!

In total, we had 28 sales transactions this past week in the Penticton region, that’s DOWN 14 properties from the week prior, and DOWN 7 sales (35) for the same week in September 2020. The TOTAL value of these 28 transactions was just over $17 million compared to $20 million the week prior. The highest priced sale was a Fourplex in the North area of Penticton which had a “sales” price tag of more than $1.1 million dollars. The difference between the listing price and actual negotiated sales price for the week was 100% – a bit inflated by one home that sold for more than $110,000 over asking price. In total, 16 of the 28 homes sold this week were “AT OR OVER” the listing price. Sales volumes continue to stay “SEASONAL” for early September, but the “Average Selling Price” tells me that SELLERS are still in control of this housing market.

Here is the breakdown by property type for this past week (Sept. 6 – Sept. 12)
  • 1 Mobile Home
  • 2 Townhomes
  • 2 Fourplexes
  • 3 Condos
  • 4 Building Lots
  • 16 Single Family Homes
